Pilates Unites For Ukraine Fundraiser Organized by Pilatay and Red Thread Ranch

Kathi Ross Nash is kicking off “Pilates Unites for Ukraine,” two weeks of donation-based Pilates classes benefiting "Ternopil Municipal City Hospital No2,” a hospital located on the territory of western Ukraine.

“Once again we find our world in turmoil, our world in pain. I am reaching to you, my Pilates family, to join myself and the beautiful Blossom Leilani Crawford to link arms and share the work for peace,” said Kathi. “I hope that you, my friends, will join us in this humanitarian effort to help some of those who are suffering unbelievable atrocities.”

The fundraiser kicks off on Sunday, March 20 with a class hosted by Kathi Ross-Nash, and concludes on Thursday, April 7 with a class hosted by Blossom Leilani Crawford. Detail below.

Pilates teachers around the world are invited to join the fundraiser by hosting classes in their own communities from March 20 - April 7. If you can’t host a class, you can still unite by participating in classes, spreading the word and the donation link, inviting friends and followers to participate in classes, or by donating at the link below.

Kateryna Smirnova, Ukranian-born trainer master with Lolita’s Legacy, will be sending the donations directly to a hospital in Ukraine (details below). All Pilates Unites for Ukraine classes and fundraisers will be listed here (this page will be updated regularly) and promoted on @pilatay.

All proceeds will go directly from Kateryna Smirnova to “Ternopil Municipal City Hospital No2,” a modern multi-profile medical and diagnostic institution located on the territory of western Ukraine, so that it may provide desperately-needed operative and post-operative care for victims of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In a letter appealing for medical supplies and donations, Hospital Director Rostyslav Levchuk said, “We hope for your support at this difficult time for Ukraine to protect its territorial integrity and sovereignty.” (Read the full letter here)

This is a beginner to intermediate classical mat class. All you will need is a yoga mat and a pole (a broom pole is perfect). If space is limited where you are, you can also use a towel or dish cloth instead. The usual caveat for online classes applies: if in doubt about any exercise (too challenging, does not agree with your body, never attempted before), please leave it out. By participating in this class you take full responsibility for your body’s safety and well-being.
